Filming: 11/01/17

Our first afternoon of filming may appear a complete flop. However, we earned a great deal of knowledge from footage we aren't really considering using.

From the video clips shown, you may notice that the characters are difficult to see. We now know to dress our cast in much brighter colours, that contrast with the background of our location. The lighting (extremely low key), creates a cheap, unprofessional pixelated effect that personally, I detest. Though there isn't much I can do about that, I could film at a different point in the day to hopefully reduce the amount the quality is decreased. I may be able to brighten scenes when it comes to editing them, however, I'd be worried that the pixelation may transfer into the brighter scenes, or that there may be a lack of consistency with the quality and colour of the film. Additionally, when editing the clips together, though only using two shots, the difference in lighting was very unprofessional - again suggesting we film at a different point in the day.

We also realised how quickly time went by. We didn't have a huge amount of time to film, but we certainly didn't get as much footage as we thought we would in two hours. This taught us to schedule our filming days more, so we can get one thing done after another and not have too much faffing about.

Below is a 30 second clip I edited together from the footage we collected on the 11th of January, having used YouTube Editor to create it.
